About ACJ

About American Crime Journal

American Crime Journal was founded in 2016 by Damion Moore with a clear purpose: to examine crime in America through documentation, investigation, and analysis grounded in fact.

From its inception, ACJ has operated on a simple principle. The record matters. Facts matter. And the public deserves access to both.

American Crime Journal was built in response to a growing media landscape saturated with sensationalism. Much of modern true crime coverage relies on recycled narratives, secondhand summaries, and speculation presented as substance. ACJ was created to stand apart from that model.

For Our Mission: Our Mission – American Crime Journal |

Our Philosophy

ACJ is not a platform for conjecture or performance. It is an investigative publication grounded in primary source material, including court records, police reports, firsthand accounts, and verifiable documentation.

We maintain an unbiased approach in our pursuit of facts. However, we do not adopt neutrality where the evidence leads to clear conclusions. Our analysis is shaped by documented information, not narrative preference.

We recognize the complexity of criminal investigations, the justice system, and the individuals involved. Our work reflects that complexity. We do not reduce cases to simplified narratives or sensational headlines.

Our Standard

At American Crime Journal, every piece of content is held to a high standard of accuracy, verification, and accountability.

  • Claims are evaluated through corroboration and evidence
  • Sources are scrutinized for credibility and reliability
  • Distinctions are made between fact, allegation, and analysis

While no system is immune to error, our process is designed to eliminate unsubstantiated claims and prevent the publication of misleading or speculative material.

Contributor opinions may vary, and do not necessarily represent the position of ACJ. However, all content must meet our standards for credibility, relevance, and evidentiary support.
