Lawsuits Filed Against O.U.R. and Tim Ballard

The lawsuit claims that Ballard used Operation Underground Railroad (OUR) “to fund his personal fantasies of grandeur”

There are now five lawsuits centering around disgraced self-proclaimed anti-trafficking activist Tim Ballard and his fraudulent organization, Operation Underground Railroad (OUR). Alongside Ballard and the nonprofit, the lawsuits also name members of OUR’s board, as well as other nonprofits and for-profit entities controlled by Ballard. Three of the lawsuits include Ballard’s friend and head cheerleader Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes. The allegations against Reyes claim that he used and abused his office to legitimize OUR to law enforcement agencies and the public, and to silence witnesses and critics.

In the lawsuits, the women claim Ballard employed the “Couples Ruse” as a tool to prevent detection by pedophiles during operations. Ballard allegedly assured them that he would not engage in any sexual contact with the trafficked women offered to him at strip clubs and massage parlors.

The plaintiffs assert that Ballard specifically chose women devoted to OUR, but who had “no formal training in paramilitary activities or operations.” They further allege that he began to abuse the “Couples Ruse” rules, which stipulated no kissing on the lips or touching of private parts.

Ballard reportedly told the women that he had received permission to implement the “Couples Ruse” from M. Russell Ballard, the acting president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Quorum of Twelve Apostles.

The lawsuit claims that Ballard used Operation Underground Railroad (OUR) “to fund his personal fantasies of grandeur.” Although an IRS form shows that Ballard received a salary of over $500,000, employees assert that he actually earned over $14,000,000 through his for-profit companies.

OUR appears to be nothing more than a club for wealthy, middle aged white men to live out their James Bond fantasies in black and brown countries.

Back in January 2020, Operation Underground Railroad and Tim Ballard hired the prestigious LDS firm, Kirton McConkie in an attempt to silence us at American Crime Journal. In an article, I stated that “OUR appears to be nothing more than a club for wealthy, middle aged white men to live out their James Bond fantasies in black and brown countries.” Even worse, we had planned to release over seventy text messages, illustrating Jon Lines disgusting behavior towards Kammi Foote and his ever-so-obvious inexperience and misconduct in the Karlie Guse case, which he had no business being there.

One of the lawsuits against Reyes previously involved Susanna Whitehead, a key witness in the Davis County and FBI criminal investigations into witness intimidation by Tim Ballard and Sean Reyes. American Crime Journal had interviewed Whitehead in 2021 and 2022, during which she provided damning evidence against both Ballard and Reyes. However, she chose not to go on record at the time, fearing that other witnesses and the nonprofit she worked for could be negatively impacted due to Ballard’s power and influence within the LDS Church and his political connections. The lawsuits claim that Ballard’s exaggerated and mostly fabricated rescue missions abroad inspired the long-debunked hit film “Sound of Freedom.” This latest legal action also targets Angel Studios, the distributor of the controversial 2023 movie.
